Civil Service Awards
The Commissioners sponsored the Cabinet Secretary Award at the 2007 Civil Service Awards. Janet Paraskeva, the First Civil Service Commissioner and Sir Gus O’Donnell the Cabinet Secretary chose a ‘winner of winners’. This award went to the team or individual who in winning one of the category awards had most conspicuously displayed pride, passion, pace and professionalism and who had communicated or displayed the core values of the service as set out in the Code. It was not an easy choice as the category winners all displayed high standards of performance across such different fields of activity. After careful deliberation the clear winner was the Peace Process Team of the Northern Ireland Office.
The Commissioners felt that the awards were a marvellous opportunity to promote the core values of the service. And also to share and celebrate the success of groups and individuals across the Civil Service in living up to the values.
The Commissioners are pleased that we will again be sponsoring the Cabinet Secretary’s Award at the 2008 Civil Service Awards in November.
