Changes to Compliance Monitoring to reflect the Recruitment Principles
The Commissioners have sought to reflect their Recruitment Principles in their revised compliance monitoring regime. The new regime, which was piloted this year, puts greater emphasis on principle over process. There is more input from those with human resources expertise. This allows better identification of underlying issues, and more in-depth analysis to allow greater sharing of best practice.
The new approach will be used for the 2010 compliance monitoring assessment round. There will be less ‘box-ticking’ and departments will not be required to produce as much supporting documentation. There will be a greater emphasis on site visits.
The revised approach will allow the Commissioners to have better intelligence on whether departments and agencies are operating in accordance with the Recruitment Principles. It will also allow us to capture and share best practice to help departments improve by learning from the experience of others.
