Assistance

To try to ensure that risk levels in departments and agencies remain as low as possible we have:

  • written to Human Resources Directors following a visit to their department or agency to urge that the issues set out in their individual action plans be addressed
  • given a greater emphasis to the following issues in the compliance monitoring questionnaire for the next compliance monitoring assessment round:
      • the consistency and quality of recruitment tests used to assess the suitability of applicants for posts
      • the management of short-term appointments into the Civil Service made without fair and open competition
  • whether departments and agencies are conducting regular internal checks of their recruitment practices
      • the move to shared service human resources arrangements
  • run a series of training courses for departmental staff on compliance monitoring.
